Yasin Gülten

Yasin Gülten was born in Istanbul in 2003. Introduced to painting at an early age, he turned toward art through a drawing practice he developed from his early years. He is currently continuing his education in the Advertising Department at Akdeniz University. The group exhibition he took part in during his first year at university was decisive in his decision to carry his artistic practice further. Initially working primarily in charcoal, Gülten gradually expanded his field of production and turned to oil painting. The self-portraits he produces regularly stand out as an important part of his effort to establish continuity in his practice and build a personal trajectory. The artist grounds his production in the practice of observing both other people and himself. In works nourished by daily life and these observations, he addresses themes such as loneliness, regret, longing, determination, refusing to compromise, and togetherness. The constantly changing, fluctuating nature of life creates a defining effect in his paintings. Without remaining bound to a fixed subject, each of Gülten's works emerges as a reflection of his observations and inner world, rendering personal experiences and raw emotions.

Zeynep Yütek

Born in Istanbul in 1971, Zeynep Yütek transfers her acrylic portraits onto handmade parchment papers she prepares herself. She creates a contrast between the warmth of traditional material and the cool discipline of geometric fragmentation associated with cubism. The organic, timeless, and textured structure of parchment adds unusual depth to portraits produced with acrylic technique. Alongside portraits focused on instant expressions, she carries her search for form into three dimensions through the wooden works she designs. Having exhibited her works in various local exhibitions to date, the artist continues to produce in her Istanbul studio while remaining faithful to the nature of the material.
